Cone Health is a not-for-profit network of healthcare providers in North Carolina, serving patients several counties. The Cone Health network includes six hospitals, two medical centers, four urgent care centers, and 95 physician practice locations.
As part of its transition from GE Centricity to EpicCare, Cone Health enlisted a joint team of J2 and Hayes Management Consulting resources to conduct a comprehensive data conversion from GE Centricity to EpicCare Ambulatory EMR. Our team planned, built, and executed 13 distinct data conversion interfaces—including Registration, Allergies, Encounters, Immunizations, Labs, Medications, Problems, Radiology, Transcriptions, Vitals, and Financials—to pull data from Centricity, Initiate EMPI, Sunquest, DocuTrak, and other source systems. For each of the clinical conversions, J2 built PL/SQL extract scripts to pull data out of Centricity, Cloverleaf interfaces to package the relational data into well-formatted HL7, and Epic Bridges interfaces to receive the HL7 from Cloverleaf.
