Consistently ranked among the top hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report and many other rating agencies, the University of Colorado Health is internationally respected for its exceptional teams of medical specialists, its remarkable medical outcomes, and its overall clinical excellence. The scene of many medical firsts (including the world’s first liver transplant), UCH has also pioneered new models of care designed to help patients navigate their way through what can be a complex health care system.
As part of its preparation to implement the EpicCare application suite, UCH asked J2 to help its integration team migrate over 100 legacy interfaces from eGate to Ensemble (now Health Connect). With our help, UCH was able to complete the first phase of the migration—over 30 interfaces in all—in less than 90 days. UCH later expanded the J2 team to include both Ensemble developers and Epic Bridges experts, and we worked seamlessly alongside internal resources to implement the necessary interfaces to support UCH’s enterprise-wide rollout of Epic Ambulatory and Epic Inpatient.
J2 has remained continuously engaged at UCH for over four years, providing up to six resources at any given time depending on the organization’s needs. As UCH’s IT organization managed the rapid transformation from the University of Colorado Hospital into the University of Colorado Health, our work helped UCH quickly and seamlessly integrate Poudre Valley Health System, Memorial Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of Colorado into its growing network. In one case, we even did the work to complete both ends of a key integration project between UCH and UPI. UCH continues to rely on J2 not only for our technical expertise but for our commitment to the success of each project.
