Trust to Take Advantage of HealthShare Clinical Event Notifications
TORQUAY, UNITED KINGDOM, August 23, 2016 — Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust today announced plans to implement HealthShare, InterSystems data sharing platform. Within the next year, the trust hopes to roll out the solution across 100 systems, including clinical and discharge letters, radiology, and parts of its Patients Know Best patient portal.
HealthShare’s clinical event notification module, which sends alerts to clinicians when one of their patients is seen by a different clinician or social services, is a new feature that the trust is looking forward to. “HealthShare alerts us if any of our heart failure patients are admitted to hospital, allowing us to speak with them and their wider care team. We can also review medications and recovery plans. On discharge, this information is shared across our acute and community teams. As a result, patients receive continuous, informed, and high-quality care by everyone they come into contact with,” notes Joanne Passmore, a heart failure specialist nurse at TSDFT.
