Healthix completes HIE-to-HIE connections with Northwell Health and Mount Sinai Health System
NEW YORK, NEW YORK and CHARLESTOWN, MASSACHUSETTS, June 15, 2017 — The largest public health information exchange in the United States, Healthix, recently connected its HIE to private HIES operated by two of the largest health systems in New York State, Northwell Health and the Mount Sinai Health System. All three use InterSystems HealthShare as their HIE platform, enabling a seamless, interoperable framework for exchange. Thanks in part to work done by J2, Northwell and Mount Sinai can now exchange an expanded scope of clinical information from a variety of clinical settings.
“J2 is proud to be part of the team that made this happen.” said Lou LaRocca, co-founder and CEO of J2 Interactive. “This enhanced data exchange will improve quality of care and support population health initiatives for patients across the New York metro area.”
Healthix President and CEO Tom Check said, “The robust set of clinical data generated by Northwell Health and the Mount Sinai Health System, available in real time, to participants in the Healthix network and across the SHIN-NY, will soon expand to include the complete Common Clinical Data Set promoted by CMS and ONC.”
A perennial leader in the HIE space, Healthix manages composite patient data for 16 million patients from healthcare providers across the continuum of care. For more information, please visit healthix.org.
