Powered by InterSystems HealthShare, new app improves care coordination and automates workflow in pediatrics
CAMBRIDGE, MA, January 30, 2020 – InterSystems has announced that Northwell Health, one of the largest private health systems in the United States, has released an application that aggregates, normalizes, and stores patient data to better track progress across the care continuum.
The SMART on FHIR application was enabled in coordination with J2 Interactive using InterSystems HealthShare®. The app eliminates the need for a manual workflow and enables care providers to more closely and accurately ensure the successful progression of the patient.
The initial use case is for monitoring growth in premature infants, which is critical to their care. This application now eases the tracking burden on Northwell’s front-line clinicians.
The new SMART on FHIR application consolidates all of the data from outpatient visits into a single, longitudinal view of the patient, empowering physicians with a more complete picture of the patient’s care history.
This particular application could ultimately be used for patients of any age.
The already-deployed core InterSystems’ technology enabled Northwell and J2 Interactive to use existing APIs and web services, which streamlined the development process.
