Summer is kicking off. What are your plans?

The sun is warm, the days are long, energy is high, and we have about three months in front of us where anything feels possible. I’m sure there are a few things at the top of everyone’s mind: road trips, family time, vacations, and drinking in the fruits of our labors.

For me, summer is all about growth and new opportunities. I love waking up with the sun knowing I have so many hours of daylight and endless possibilities ahead of me.

But I find myself wrestling with a specific question:

What am I going to grow this summer?

This question carries a bit more weight—and significantly more enthusiasm—as I’m writing on the heels of InterSystems Global Summit. All the talk of Generative AI, the tech demos, and conversations around the future of healthcare have left everyone feeling inspired.

My mind is jumping and running with all the possibilities, how about yours?

Global Summit

There was one main theme that emerged from this year’s Global Summit: the power of possibility.
And of course, generative AI and large language models are the new frontier of what’s possible. The conversation on AI is usually equal parts concern and enthusiasm.
J2 CEO, Lou LaRocca, said it best in his recent LinkedIn Post:

The keynote lineup at this year’s Global Summit was exceptional, and Don Woodlock’s Film Noir series of demos, several of which included AI, left everyone in the room feeling ready for the benefits of these new technologies. Speakers like Dr. Medell Briggs called for transparency in the integration of AI into technology, and a keen awareness of AI’s potential to exponentially scale unconscious bias and inequities in healthcare. The event was a perfect medley of inspiration and grounded caution, ensuring that healthcare leaders frame their investments in AI wisely.
