J2 Interactions Newsletter | March '24

When you hear Conference Time, do you think HIMSS or NCAA?

I’m happily digging out of my ViVE and HIMSS email backlog and packing up for State Health IT Connect in Baltimore—so when I think of March Madness, I think of long lines at SeaTac and conference badges! That said, I’m rooting for Gonzaga in both the men’s and women’s NCAA Basketball Championships. How about you?

That’s a perfect layup to our big announcement—I’m delighted to introduce our new Director of Marketing, Rachel Warnock! Rachel started her marketing career working in public health before transitioning to HIT at InterSystems and now the J2 crew. She’s big on storytelling, so don’t be shy if there’s something exciting in your world.

I’ll still be around. I’m shifting my focus as the new Executive Director of Alliances. You’ll see me making connections and spinning up new relationships, especially in the state and local domain!

Catch you on and off the court 🏀,

Jen Carter
Executive Director, Customer Experience

J2 Interactive Establishes InterSystems Interoperability Infrastructure Required for HIE at Indian Health Service

In pursuit of the Indian Health Service’s mission to develop “healthy communities and quality health care systems through strong partnerships and culturally responsive practices,” the organization created the Health Information Technology Modernization Program in 2023. This program’s goal: replace the outdated HIT systems with a new, unified EHR.
Information from 37 states, representing over 2.56 million people, had to be collected from different EHRs and amalgamated into one place, an already difficult endeavor paired with the unique challenges of IHS’s Health Information Exchange (HIE) initiative.
J2 Interactive worked with the other collaborators to create the Four Directions Hub (4DH) unified patient record, data warehouse, and interoperable infrastructure required for sharing and standardizing crucial legacy and new electronic health data, laying the foundation for modern interoperability, which will ensure the HIE will be able to support the new EHR.

ViVE 2024

ViVE, the premier, curated event experience for digital health decision-makers, was held in Los Angeles this year. J2 attended, joining discussions on the business of healthcare and how to improve the space today and beyond. Interoperability was the hottest topic, as it has been for years, but now we’re talking about what’s next—public health use cases, payer decision support, and everything AI.

HIMSS 2024

A few weeks later, J2 flew down to Orlando to attend HIMSS 2024 for discussions on improving healthcare quality, safety, cost-effectiveness, and access through the best use of information technology and management systems!
The team spent the majority of the conference connecting with our customers and partners at InterSystems. Our conversations with customers explored new frontiers for their technology stacks and we were able to coach them on how it could be done. It’s our greatest honor to help healthcare communities achieve new levels of success through technology.
