Coming together for our communities.
I truly enjoy the spirit of Thanksgiving and the notion of putting your all into something that will be enjoyed communally. Growing up, we always had Thanksgiving at my grandmother’s farm in Northern Wisconsin, and I had the honor of making the whipped cream from scratch. I still thoroughly enjoy cooking, and I tend to go all out when I know it’s food I’m sharing with others.
In that sense, food and data are a lot alike. We take food into our bodies, and every bite contains information and helpful things for the community that makes up our unique biology. The food we collectively bring to the table can lift us up—or give us indigestion.
It’s the same for data. A lot goes into our enterprises. We collectively bring billions of data points to the table to share, but unless our data is clean, we can risk indigestion, or worse, food poisoning.

Thanksgiving pro-tip: The average slice of pumpkin pie contains 60% of your daily vitamin A requirement, so better save room for two slices!
