J2 Interactions Newsletter | September '24

Fall is here!

There’s a coolness in the air here in Boston, and with it, a renewed sense of inspiration…Or maybe my inspiration is coming from the most recent edition of The Inspired Service podcast with InterSystems’ John Paladino and J2’s own Lou LaRocca.

In this episode, Lou shares much of his and co-founder Mickey’s journey as entrepreneurs, and his response to John’s question, “What drives him?” is not one you hear often: gratitude.

I won’t spoil the episode for you, but Lou talks about his and Mickey’s decision to do something absolutely crazy—start a company—and his gratitude for being able to do this work, creating an impact in the world.

Service is what inspires John as the Head of Client Services at InterSystems; gratitude is what inspires Lou as the CEO of J2. For the past 20 years, a heart full of gratitude and a desire to serve others have helped shape the healthcare industry for the better. From the federal government and numerous health information exchanges to laboratories and hospital systems, these two have been partners in technological innovations that have touched millions of lives.

I’ve had the privilege of working with both these leaders and being inspired by their work, their principles, and their long-standing commitments to make healthcare better year after year. I hope you give the episode a listen: there are laughs, stories from 20 years ago, and reflections on the legacies we create.
